A few moments from last week-end in my home town. Now that Little Smith has fully weaned, his relationship with his papa is truly blooming. They were always wonderfully close, but there is something special going on these days. It's so sweet, and also kind of a relief after months filled with 'mama, mama, mama', a sound that I love but that can also be exhausting.

This week was very mellow which is just perfect thank you! The high point was Little Smith sleeping in until 7:30 each day and waking up with such happiness and delight. The low point was spending one of the most beautiful (sunny and cool) days shuffling between furniture shops to figure out what we're doing for our new couch. Actually realizing that I had no diapers packed as I attempted to change a disastrous one on the floor of the Ikea handicapped bathroom was the real low point. Hurray for dish towels. We did decide on a couch though and it arrives Tuesday! That's record time for two indecisive people.

This week-end I'm hoping for a good bike ride (although rain is predicted), a good barbecue, and lots of baking that I've been slacking on lately. Enjoy!

  1. Oh, man. I have been there with the no diaper thing. Just last week, Emil had to go completely diaper-less after I let him play in the water then realized I had no clean diapers. I just put him in the carrier and risked him peeing all over me. Your situation sounds worse, though.

    Lovely pics as usual!

    1. I know Ikea is the best- but we ended up not getting our couch from there 'cause it wasn't long enough and the hubs didn't love the idea of a modular couch. I was so impressed with the style for money ratio though :)

  8. Gorgeous photos. Love the coffee shop pic. We have some Ikea sofas, and we had to move them out of the main family room, because the backs are far too short. Not comfy. Have to watch that next time! We went for low cost and decent style. From now on, I match style and comfort!! Can't wait to see your choice! Does your Ikea not have diapers in the bathrooms? Ours does (not that we need them anymore).

  9. That purple leaf is so pretty. And I love how cuddly you all are in your pictures. The no diaper thing is definitely one of those "Oh crap" moments. I don't know if they still do, but Ikea used to sell diaper kits in their bathrooms for like 75 cents each, and they saved us on more than one occasion when Julian was a wee lad and had explodo diapers in the middle of the store.
